Hi, I’m Emily — food writer, home cook, and relentless toast romantic.

Emily on Toast is a newsletter about everyday, easy, feel-good food. I’m your girl if you want to eat healthily but want new, vibrant, exciting ideas.

My approach to food is creative, casual and fun. Most of my recipes are created by fridge/cupboard raiding. I honestly love nothing more than seeing what I’ve got in and coming up with ideas for what I can make it.

I don’t take cooking too seriously, and my best piece of advice to non-confident cooks is to do the same. Cooking should be fun and creative, and I hope my recipes help you to adopt the same approach.

You’ll notice a few themes with my recipes:

  • I love ‘things on toast’ (hence the name)

  • I am a big halloumi fan and do some pretty unique things with it (check out my All Hail Halloumi series)

  • I love all things BEANS (so so good for you and such heroes for quick, easy meals)

  • I’m a big fan of 15-20 minute meals, many of which are one-pot meals
